I've been connecting with this song lately enjoying the fabulous performance from Deer Creek on July 19, 1990. I gave the 12-14-90 Foolish Heart a quick listen and just it just didn't spark.

Any suggestions for my upcoming road trip?

What a great song!!

Of the versions I am familiar with, 6/8/90 has the best outro, while 9/24/91 has a super-duper Brucey intro.

I made the same call and the pedophile called it a felony.

Here's another look. The D>S is pretty fun too....

I've always been partial to the June 22 91 version at Soldier Field. Truly a thing of beauty. I was reminded on XM yesterday when it was a featured show.

Alpine Valley 1989 and you should go back to Oakland 1990 but later in December. I want to say 12-28-90. It closed the first set and it's a beauty

the often referenced "best of versions" is 06-08-1990 Cal Expo, one of the tighter shows fo 1990...nice jam follows...http://www.archive.org/details/gd1990-06-08.sbd.miller.tetzeli.fix-6935.34397.sbeok.shnf

another classic one is 12-28-1991, Garcia plays this one a little bluesier...this second set also features the first Same Thing in 20 plus years and one of the best SOTM...outstanding quality sbd...http://www.archive.org/details/gd91-12-28.sbd.miller.21615.sbeok.shnf

06-11-1993/06-16-1993 are two other nice versions

I'm reminded of the great Foolish Heart from 7/12/1990 that's included as bonus footage on VFTV II.

The obvious choice that no one mentioned is 9/18/90, but the main thing about that one is the jam that follows.

This one had my jaw on the floor as I sat in my chair at the Rosemont Horizon and heard it go down. Brent's work on the second jam is what did it for me.
